Using Google Calendar for my Athletic League | Spark Logix Studios

This article assumes you are already using a Calendar with events for the entire League. This article is to inform the user how to create team calendars, share permissions, and make those calendars public for everyone to see.

To create a new team calendar, just follow these steps:

1.) At the bottom of the My calendars section on the left, click the Add link.
2.) Enter the required information.
3.) Make the calendar is public for everyone to view.
4.) Share the Calendar with the coach or the person entering practices and games times. Permission settings should be “make changes and manage sharing”. Enter their email address and add.
5.) Click Create Calendar.

All of the calendars you create will be listed under My Calendars on the left side of your page. For each of the calendars, you can add, delete, and edit events any time you like.

Please note that there’s a limit to the number of calendars you can create at one time. If you’re receiving an error message when creating additional calendars, please wait 24 hours before trying again.

Share an existing calendar with specific people

To share your calendar with specific users (coach), follow the steps below.

1.) In the calendar list on the left side of the page, click the down-arrow button next to a calendar, then select Share this calendar. (Alternatively, click the Settings link at the bottom of the calendar list, then select a calendar and click the Share this calendar link.)
2.) Enter the email address of the person you want to share your calendar with.
3.) From the drop-down menu, permission settings should be “make changes and manage sharing”, then click Add. (Once you click Add, the person you selected to share the calendar with will receive an email invitation to view your calendar.)
